To answer your question precisely would be to make a sweeping generalisation about the views of millions of people, and as such it's impossible, and not an approach I'd personally take.
However, best of luck with your research. I'd say that for some of the more extreme views, take a look at the Daily Mail!!!
Thats what I'm getting at, I don't mind the professional immigrants coming in (doctors and the like), its the scum illegal ones that I cannot tolerate, the most of which are criminals in their own country and come here to escape whatever penalty for the crime, but what grinds my gears most is that both the government and certain individuals see this viewpoint as racist and I don't believe it is, its realistic. I also don't like the way the government has legislated to make people scared to speak out against the illegals, we shouldn't be scared and we shouldn't be silenced.
the business of building houses has little to do with immigration - I don't think the population is actually growing much - and more to do with demographic change. A house used to accommodate one or more families, each of which had 4 or 5 people in it. Now it will have only one family, probably only 2 or 3 people; and flats that used to house couples now have singles living in them, as more people choose to live alone. Result: more housing needed to accommodate the same number of people.
I don't think freedom of speech has changed much. As I recall, during the war, the surrealist photographer once took a photo of Diana Churchill's head - separate from her body - and ended up in jail for a couple of years. Thankfully, that doesn't happen any more, otherwise Damien Hirst would be in big trouble.
Sorry madein1978 just an addendum.
Why dont you have the courage of your convictions and tell the ABers what you really think. That is repeat what you said previously on the 'coloured word' issue.I mean verbatum. You have posted a very measured question but I think you are sinister and I think you have an agenda. You have never mentioned anyone from central europe nor from any of the eastern bloc countries. Now in my personal experience there are more people seeking work in this country from those countries than the people you very succinctly labelled previously.I suggest this is a racist issue and you are a bigot. In other words colour is your agenda.
NB to ABEd.If this is reported please refer to the other postings deleted by yourselves re this individual.
Aha, we have a kindred spirit amongst us, halleluja, you are quite right, don1, they are of no earthly good to us, except being a huge drain on this countrys resources, and I will reiterate what buddy is on about, talking about losing our heritage, according to our government and the immigrants, we have NO heritage or tradition of our own, its racist, same as celebrating christmas is racist apparently, and calling yourself british is racist, don't you know, hell even the union jack is racist, apparently. The christmas thing is so we don't upset the muslims because we have to be so sensitive to their needs, don't we? I think not, they flushed any credibillity down the toilet on July 7th when those disgusting muslims robbed us of true british citizens and did what I felt had been coming for a long time, and I know before long they will do it again, but illegals are wonderful aren't they, buddy!?
Depends what you mean by immigrants.
For example, search in Google for Romanians jailed and see how many Romanians have been jailed in the last few weeks in the UK - the e-bay scam, credit card fraud etc.
Now this really angers me, but I have to ask WHAT ARE THEY DOING HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Romania are not in the EU so they did not come that way, if they are Asylum Seekers why are we accepting them from that country, or are they illegal immigrants.
So it boils down to this, I am happy to accept some immigrants - Tesco's and Marks and Spencers were started by immigrants, Michael Howard is the son of immigrants, as are many others in high office.
But when we get the dregs of the earth coming here and commiting these crimes then I have to say that it is about time we tightened up the borders.
As far as I am concerned the politicans of both Labour and Tory have badly let the country down by relaxing our borders and we are now a target for organized gangs from all over the world, many of whom come here and 'hide' under the umberella of immigation.
My father fought in the 2nd world war to stop this country being invaded and as far as I am concerned he wasted his time because we are now being invaded again, and this time we are putting up no resistance.
